So many people have settled with lives that they are content with, but didn’t necessarily ask for. Part of this has to do with a person’s level of worry that keeps them from taking a chance on life, and going after some bigger goals.

The truth is, you can fail at what you don’t want to be doing, so you might as well take a chance doing what you love!

Living Your Life to the Fullest

Find out what it is you want in life and go after it as if your life depends on it, because it does. People assume there will always be tomorrow, but that just isn’t the case. There are many opportunities that were around yesterday that aren’t around today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone, so coming to grips with this concept, is the key to releasing fear that is keeping you from living your life to the fullest today.

Think about it, if you really understood that today could potentially be the last day of your life, it really wouldn’t matter if you embarrassed yourself in front of your peers taking a chance on an endeavor that you always wanted to pursue. Accepting the fact that one day you will breath your last breath, is such a motivator to just release all fear and expectations you have placed on yourself.

It’s easy to beat ourselves up for not living up to our own expectations, and reading something like this might only put a spotlight on our failures and insecurities. Sometimes, it’s this sort of motivation that can give you what you need to forget the past, and move forward being successful without fear and anxiety of what might happen in the future.

Statistics have shown that 90% of things people worry about never actually happen, and I would be inclined to believe this because it’s human nature to worry and burden ourselves with unnecessary anxiety.

Studies show that people who worry a lot are generally less effective than those who don’t; they get less work done and are often less happy. People that worry are slower to respond than people who chose not to—presumably because worrying burns off mental energy that would be more effectively applied elsewhere. It is sad to consider your life’s potential is being held back because you are burning mental energy on something that could be altogether side-stepped and let go of.

According to a recent laboratory study at Yale and Pennsylvania State University, it was discovered that the mere opportunity to worry for five minutes is enough to bring down a person’s mood. This is the sort of thing that keeps people from starting businesses and taking chances in life. An optimistic mindset is what takes a person down a road that they want rather than a road they are just settling for.

Questions in life such as: Will my business be successful? Will I marry someone that will love me and not cheat on me?, are all legitimate concerns if they actually did happen, but these concerns are not things that are solved by worrying and losing sleep over.

Think about all the things that you have worried about recently. Out of those things, what were some of the worries that actually came to pass? Was there some excess worry and stress that was wasted on things that never happened? Was what actually happened as bad as you made it out to be in your head, or were you able to turn that negative into a positive?

Failure is a Part of Success, So Embrace It

So many people are worried about failure and embarrassment, which keeps them from ever taking a step forward chancing a successful outcome. One thing that successful people know is that it takes many failures to often get something right, and worrying about a small failures is just a hindrance from actually getting through the hard times before success is actually realized.

Learn the difference between worry and concern. Concern is paying attention to your issues, but not letting your concerns turn into negative emotions that freeze your action steps. It’s a sad thought to consider that someone lived their life only to have died under tremendous amounts of stress, leaving this earth unfulfilled in their endeavors.

Enjoy the journey to your destination, because if you aren’t happy now, you won’t know how to be happy when you get to where you are going. Be inspired to live your life, take chances, and realize your dreams!
